Antiga casa conventual dos carmelitas, de construção nos séculos XVII-XVIII, é constituída por dois edifícios paralelos: adega, com habitação no piso superior, e casa de alambiques. Tem um terreiro e terrenos circundantes com currais de vinha. Em 1982 foi criado o museu. A sua localização geográfica é privilegiada, no epicentro da paisagem da vinha, defronte ao canal que liga o Pico ao Faial. Reúne a essência da surpreendente natureza humana associada à pedra vulcânica e ao histórico Ciclo do Verdelho.
This old Carmelite convent house was built in the 17th and 18th centuries and comprises two parallel buildings: the cellar, with the residence on the upper floor, and the stills house. It has a front yard and surrounding land with vine corrals. The museum was built in 1982. It sits in a privileged location at the epicenter of the vine landscape, facing the canal that joins Pico and Faial. It sums up the essence of the surprising human nature associated with the volcanic rock and the historic Verdelho Cycle.
